Bartimaeus was a blind beggar sitting on the roadside as Jesus headed up to Jerusalem. He had heard of Jesus and his reputation for being a healer. When he finally heard that this famous Rabbi was passing by, he poured out all his hope and faith by calling for mercy. His persistence in faith brought him before the Lord and Jesus asked him “What do you want me to do for you?” This question could very well be asked of us today. But are we approaching Jesus with an appeal for mercy or for an appeal for glory as James and John did previous to this? What do we want Jesus to do for us? Listen to this sermon fro more.
